Yeti’s Rambler line of insulated coffee mugs is widely recognized as one of the best in the market and has remained our pick for the best upgrade travel mug pick for years. But after launching Rambler-branded tumblers and mugs in countless sizes, ice bucketswine bottle chillers, and even cocktail shakers, there was one other seemingly obvious place to go that also aligns nicely with the brand’s outdoor-centered lifestyle โ€“ the French press

The newly released Yeti Rambler French press line comes in 34oz and 64oz sizes in various color options (naturally). As you’d also expect, they’re double-walled insulated and made from kitchen-grade 18/8 stainless steel that’s puncture and rust-resistant.

While a few third party hacks have allowed Yeti’s Rambler line work like a French press, Yeti’s official French press models are bound to perform better.

Where the Yeti’s take on the classic coffee-making design could stand out is in its lid and plunger design. The so-called “Twist-to-Lock Lid” looks like a riff on theย Stronghold lids featuredย on some of its travel mugs and promises to lock in heat and liquid, while a GroundsControl Filter stops the brewing process to preventย over extraction.

It’s worth calling out here that all French press plungers are designed to do this, but in use, few are effective to the point where we’d recommend letting brewed coffee linger for long periods of time before drinking โ€“ at least if you want the great tasting cup. So if Yeti’s design offers a noticeable improvement in preventing over extraction, it would complement the Rambler line’s ability to keep liquids hot for multiple hours nicely.

Given Yeti’s excellent track record of improving on seemingly small product details other brands overlook, albeit for a premium price, we’re looking forward to testing the Rambler French press soon.

Here’s hoping thatย a pour-over brewerย is next.ย
