Camping with your partner can be a fulfilling, romantic experience that generates core memories to last a lifetime. Or, it can be a dirty and frustrating nightmare that leaves you contemplating why you’re with this person at all by the time you’re ready to pack it in.

To make sure your couple’s camping experience falls into the former, er, camp, you’ll need to make sure you have the right equipment. That could be as simple as a really nice two-person tent, but if you’re more the glamping type, then you’re at least going to want a camper.

There are myriad campers on the market, from tiny teardrops to monstrous RVs, but the latest offering from Australia’s Offline Campers might just be the perfect choice for couples based on its size and features.

Room for two without being cramped

Despite being called the Solitaire, Offline Campers’ new unit is really ideal for two people.

At the front of the cabin sits a queen-sized bed, with a legit inner-spring mattress. A good night’s sleep on a bed that feels like the one you have at home is pretty clutch when you’re overlanding, and the fact that this one has windows on each side and a skylight โ€” all of which can be opened โ€” adds to both the comfort level and romantic vibes.

Climate controls are also located at the bedside, so you can easily maintain a cozy temperature without even getting out of bed.

Moving toward the rear of the camper, there’s a small lounge and cafe area that does not convert into an additional sleeping area. Sorry, kids, you’ll have to stay home! (A longer, 16-foot version of the Solitaire offers additional room if you must bring the family.)

Beyond the lounge, there is an ensuite bathroom at the very rear that technically sits outside the camper but is fully enclosed and deploys electronically. Basically, you still feel like you’re inside the camper when you’re in the bathroom, but the extra room means you get a full hot water shower and toilet that each have their own dedicated space โ€” no showering on top of the toilet. Again, this trailer is all about maximizing comfort.

In addition to its bathroom appearing at the press of a button, the Solitaire has other tricks up its sleeve. While appearing as a stout and compact storage trailer when stowed or towed, the Solitaire is actually a hybrid camper, combining the features of a traditional trailer with a pop-up camper.

Press a button and a tent-like roof rises, making the camper tall enough for you to comfortably stand up and walk around. A retractable awning and leveling system are also just a button press away.

Thanks to the electronic pop-up roof, the Solitaire’s lounge area offers plenty of standing room for two adults.

Finally, there’s an external stainless steel kitchen with plumbed gas and hot water. It’s equipped with a sink, fridge/freezer, pantry and three-burner stove. There’s plenty of room for wine and ample space to whip up a romantic dinner for two.

Sorry, Australian couples only

Now, for the bad news. Offline Campers is an Australian company and it doesn’t export its campers to the U.S. So if you’re hoping to go on a Solitaire excursion with your special someone, you’re going to have to do so in The Land Down Under.

If you do happen to be reading this in Australia, then congrats, you are exactly the market for whom Offline makes its awesome campers. The Solitaire 14 is priced from $123,000 AUD (~$82,186 USD), which is in the expensive realm of campers is actually pretty damn reasonable.
