In a tragic note for “Brotherhood of Muscle” members across the land, Dodge killed off the Charger and Challenger muscle cars after the 2023 model year. But the Dodge Charger is returning for 2024 — with a new electric and internal combustion lineup that will, and we quote the brand here, “displace superchargers with kilowatts and Power Shots.”
Dodge gave us an early preview at a location we can’t disclose in Detroit ahead of the official reveal on March 5th, where we had a chance to check out the cars in person and learn a few new interesting details. So without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona and the combustion Chargers to follow.
The Dodge Charger is both an EV and an internal-combustion vehicle
Dodge is building the new Charger on Stellantis’s “STLA Large” platform. The platform will accommodate what the company a “multi-energy lineup” — in other words, it can be used for both electric and internal combustion vehicles.
EV Chargers are called the Charger Daytona. Dodge is launching with two 400-volt trims, the Scat Pack and the R/T. Both will launch with Direct Connection Stage Kits that unlock more power beyond what those trims will make stock.
