Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT) teamed up with Houston, Texas-based and award-winning custom knifemaker Princeton Wong to commercialize his first project to win the Best New Maker award at the world’s largest knife tradeshow – a.k.a. the Blade Show, back in 2021.
While the resultingย Fial Liner Lockย knife is far less intricately detailed than Wong’s original take, it’s still a full-fledged EDC knife equipped with a bonus feature that, if we’re being honest, is more likely to be used regularly than any survival tool.ย
The impetus for the project came from Wong’s wine-enthusiast friend. The result is a clever folding knife equipped with a 3.62″ blade that conceals a corkscrew and boot lever within its handle. Perspective buyers can choose between two different variations of the knife.ย
A 12C27 steel blade version with a bead blast finish and stainless steel handle will cost $113. A more luxurious M390 steel blade option with a satin finish and Titanium handle will cost $275.
The entire knife measures 8.25″ when open and 4.59″ when closed. Depending on the version, its weight ranges between 5.60 and 3.80 oz.
Both feature the company’s well-known IKBS ball bearing pivot system for smooth and fast deployment, and the liner lock can easily be closed with one hand.
Neither option is available for purchase right now, but according to an Instagram post, it will go on sale at the Atlanta Blade Show on June 7th and hit the company’s website on the same day at 10 am PST.
